
Near Sellout for Chicago Fire Match Against New York Red Bulls at Toyota Park on August 8

CHICAGO, IL (August 6, 2009) - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced today a near sellout, more than 19,000 tickets sold, for the Chicago Fire - New York Red Bulls match at TOYOTA PARK, this Sunday, Aug. 8 at 8:00 PM CT (ESPN2/ESPN Deportes).
Limited advance tickets and Standing Room Only tickets are still available by calling 1-888-MLS-FIRE (657-3473) or by heading to the club's official website, www.Chicago-Fire.com.
For the first time in MLS history five Designated Players could be on the pitch at the same time. New Fire Designated Players Nery Castillo and Freddie Ljungberg will likely make their TOYOTA PARK debut as the Mexican international and former Arsenal great will face off against a New York Red Bulls squad featuring French World Cup winner Thierry Henry, Mexican international Rafael Marquez and Colombian forward Juan Pablo Angel.
The Fire return home to TOYOTA PARK fresh off a 3-2 victory over the league-leading LA Galaxy at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. The Fire's offensive explosion saw the Men in Red tally three goals in the first 20 minutes of play and withstand a late comeback to earn the victory on the road.
