
Chicago Fire Trade Defender Tim Ward to San Jose Earthquakes

CHICAGO, IL (August 6, 2010) - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced today that it has traded defender Tim Ward to San Jose Earthquakes in exchange for a conditional selection in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. Per MLS and club policy, terms of the trade were not disclosed.
"We would like to thank Tim for his contributions to the Chicago Fire and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors," said Fire Technical Director Frank Klopas.
Ward, a six-year veteran, was drafted by New York MetroStars as the 12th overall selection in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft. Since joining the Fire in 2009, the Waukesha, WI product has tallied three assists in 25 appearances with the Fire.
