NBC Releases BaseballSavings.com NBC World Series Bracket

WICHITA, Kansas - Today the National Baseball Congress (NBC) released the 32-team bracket for the BaseballSavings.com 77th Annual National Baseball Congress World Series. The 15-day tournament will open on Saturday, July 30th,with three games, and the 2011 National Champion will be crowned on Saturday, August 13th at newly renovated Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, KS.
Last years Champion the Liberal Bee Jays will be featured on opening night as the number one overall seed while the 2010 Runners-Up the Seattle Studs will occupy the second seed. Other familiar teams like the Kenai Peninsula Oilers, Santa Barbara Foresters, San Diego Stars and Valley Center Diamond Dawgs will also make repeat visits to Wichita to compete in summer baseballs most historic Championship. In the next two and a half weeks many more teams will earn berths through league and qualifying tournament championships, those teams will be inserted into their proper slot on the bracket and be updated as they become available on the NBC's website www.nbcbaseball.com.
"We are very excited to showcase the new playing surface at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. We feel the players and fans alike will enjoy it as well as the other renovations the City of Wichita has provided us in the last six-months", said NBC Operations Manager Casey Walkup. "This will be a very competitive tournament considering the parity in summer-collegiate baseball this summer and again we will have more than 12 states represented in our National Championship which will provide great entertainment and baseball for the fans of the NBC."
Baseball âRound the Clock will also be back for yet another season taking place Friday, August 5th - Sunday, August 7th. Last year this family tradition received national media exposure on ESPN.com for the craze of people competing in baseball's version of Survivor...17-Games in 56-Hours. Tournament passes are now on sale for the 77th World Series at the NBC Box Office, or by calling 316-264-OUTS (6887). Single session tickets will go on sale the week of August 18th.
