Naturals Unlucky on Friday the 13th in 6-1 Defeat at Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Northwest Arkansas (16-17) dropped a 6-1 decision on Friday night to the Springfield Cardinals (19-15) at Hammons Field. Springfield's starter, Trey Nielsen (4-2, 3.32) tossed a complete-game, allowing a solo home run to Mauricio Ramos in the fifth inning.

Ramos blasted a mammoth big fly well beyond the left-field wall for the lone run of the night against Nielson.

Left-hander, Matt Strahm (2-2, 2.68) worked his second-straight quality start, tossing 6.0 IP, allowing three runs on nine hits with five strikeouts as he took the loss for just the second time this season.

Naturals' designated hitter, Zane Evans, collected a two-hit game while recording his fifth double of the season in the top of the ninth inning.

Right-hander, Jake Junis (2-2, 4.26) takes the ball in game three tomorrow night with a 6:10 p.m. first pitch from Hammons Field. Right-hander, Andrew Morales (3-2, 2.76) will counter for the Cardinals.
