Naturals Bust out Bats to Begin Second Half

Springdale, AR - The Northwest Arkansas Naturals opened up the second half with a 9-2 win over the Arkansas Travelers on Tuesday night at Arvest Ballpark.

RHP Victor Alcantara (L, 2-4) surrendered seven runs on a career-high 11 hits in the loss. Alcantara worked four innings and issued two walks with two strikeouts.

After RF Caleb Adams led off the game with his first Double-A home run for Arkansas, NWA scored twice in the first, once in the third, three more times in the fourth, once in the fifth and twice in the sixth to jump out to the 9-2 lead.

Arkansas' only other run was plated in the third on an Adams double to right.

RHP Eduardo Paredes and RHP Danny Reynolds both worked two innings and neither allowed an earned run.

Travs SS Anthony Phillips registered his first multi-hit game since May 26 (20 games) with a 2-for-3 performance.

Seven Travs were held hitless.

Naturals 3B Mauricio Ramos finished 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.

The Travs four-game winning streak and span of nine-straight wins against Northwest Arkansas were both snapped.

With the loss, Arkansas fell to 32-39 on the season and 0-1 in the second half. The two teams will conclude the four-game series on Wednesday afternoon at Arvest Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m.
