From the Notes
Pitcher's Paradise: First Tennessee Park has been one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in the Pacific Coast League since it was built in 2015. This season it has yielded the second-fewest runs (350) and the fewest home runs (45) on the circuit. Only Memphis' AutoZone Park has allowed fewer runs (339). The next fewest home runs allowed is Iowa's Principal Park with 60. On the other side of the coin, Las Vegas' Cashman Field has been the most hitter-friendly ballpark in the league this season, allowing 622 runs and 142 home runs, both league-highs.
Small Ball: Last night was just the eighth time this season the Sounds failed to record an extra-base hit and first since May 30. Nashville is 3-5 in games in which they don't tally an extra-base hit. They have failed to record an extra-base hit in back-to-back games twice this season, April 7 & 8 in New Orleans and then on May 28 against Oklahoma City and at Round Rock on May 30.
Bullpen Savers: With his eight-inning performance last night, Ben Bracewell became the fourth Sounds pitcher to record a start of seven or more innings this season. The others to do it are James Naile, Frankie Montas, and Daniel Gossett. After Naile's seven-inning outing Sunday afternoon, last night marked the second time this season the Sounds had starters last seven or more innings in back-to-back starts. Naile went seven on May 13 before Montas went eight on May 14.
Walk It Off: The Sounds notched their sixth walk-off win of the season last night as Melvin Mercedes came through with an RBI single in the 11th inning. It was the third walk-off against Omaha. They also defeated the Storm Chasers in walk-off fashion on April 15 & 16.
