
Nashville Outlasts Omaha in 11, 5-4

NASHVILLE, TN (July 16) - Omaha took the lead 3 times, but couldn't hold on, as Nashville rallied for a 5-4, 11-inning win over the Storm Chasers on Monday night at First Tennessee Field.
Omaha initially went ahead in the top of the 3rd. Terrance Gore bunted for a base hit, went to 3rd on an errant pickoff throw, and scored on a groundout by Billy Burns .
The Chasers extended the advantage in the top of the 4th, as Ryan O'Hearn doubled, advanced to 3rd on a sacrifice bunt by Ramon Torres , and came home on an RBI double by Donnie DeWees for a 2-0 lead.
Memphis took advantage of Omaha wildness to tie the score in the bottom of the 6th. Steve Lombardozzi led off with a single, and Arnaldo Hernandez walked Beau Taylor and Anthony Garcia to load the bases. Richard Lovelady was summoned out of the bullpen, and induced a home-to-1st double play on a ground ball to the mound, but then walked Sheldon Neuse, hit B.J. Boyd with a pitch to force home a run, and walked Jorge Mateo to force in the tying run. It was 2-2.
Arnaldo Hernandez, who was making his 2nd Triple-A start for Omaha, was charged with 2 runs on 3 hits in 5+ innings. He struck out 5 and walked 5.
Ben Bracewell threw 8 innings for Nashville, limiting the Chasers to 2 runs (1 earned), 7 hits, and no walks. He struck out 7.
Richard Lovelady tossed a scoreless 7th for Omaha, and Jake Newberry kept the game tied in the 8th and 9th.
Omaha scored in the top of the 10th; Parker Morin was the automatic runner at 2nd, and he was bunted to 3rd by Terrance Gore. Morin then crossed the plate on a wild pitch by Carlos Ramirez, giving the Chasers a 3-2 lead.
Nashville responded in the bottom of the 10th, as Ramon Laureano advanced to 3rd on a groundout and was driven home by a Beau Taylor single to tie the game again.
Ramon Torres pushed Omaha ahead 4-3 with a run-scoring single against Ramirez (W, 1-1) in the top of the 11th, but Nashville scored twice in the bottom half to win the game. Sheldon Neuse singled in the tying run against Kevin Lenik (L, 0-2), moved to 2nd on a bunt, and scored on a single by Melvin Mercedes.
The Storm Chasers (41-52) will continue the series in Nashville tomorrow night at 7:05. RHP Zach Lovvorn (1-2, 6.61) will throw for Omaha, while RHP Frankie Montas (1-5, 4.39) will oppose him for Nashville.
