Nashville Soccer Club Wraps up Two-Match Road Trip this Saturday at Columbus Crew

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nashville Soccer Club (10W-4L-5D, 35 pts.), currently in second place in the Supporters Shield race behind FC Cincinnati (43 pts.), will complete its two-match road trip on Saturday at Columbus Crew (8W-6L-4D, 28 pts.) at Lower.com Field, in a match that can be seen on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app and heard on 104.5 The Zone.

The Boys in Gold suffered its first defeat since April 15 on Wednesday night at CF Montréal. Prior to the loss, Nashville SC set a record of 10 matches unbeaten (7W-0L-3D) while not allowing more than a goal per match.

Nashville SC has presented a united front on the defensive side of the ball this season, allowing a league low of 14 goals, while owning the lowest goals against average (0.74) in MLS and having allowed one goal or less in 18 of 19 matches.

Goalkeeper Joe Willis leads all MLS goalkeepers in save percentage (80.8%) and has the lowest goals against average (0.74) among goalkeepers with a minimum of 10 starts. Willis has recorded the fifth most saves this season at 59.

Reigning 2022 Landon Donovan MLS MVP Hany Mukhtar stands as the Golden Boot leader with 13 goals and is the only player in MLS to have 20 goal contributions.

The German has scored multiple goals 14 times in his MLS career, with Nashville SC owning a 12W-0L-2D record. Mukhtar has contributed to 90 of Nashville SC's 159 goals in club history (56 goals, 34 assists).

Last week, Mukhtar became the third player in MLS history to record at least 50 regular season goals and 30 assists over a three-year span. The German joins Sebastian Giovinco (2015-17) and Robbie Keane (2012-14, 2013-15) as the only players to accomplish that feat.

Dax McCarty is on history watch this Saturday, having registered 35,800 minutes in his MLS career, the midfielder is now 44 minutes shy of surpassing Chad Marshall (35,843) for the second most in MLS history by an outfield player.

Nashville SC will have three players away this weekend on international duty as Aníbal Godoy (Panama) Fafà Picault (Haiti) and Jacob Shaffelburg (Canada) have been called in by their respective countries ahead of the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup Group Stage.
