DES MOINES - The Iowa Cubs (24-31) were held to four hits as the Nashville Sounds (29-25) snagged the series victory with a 6-0 shutout, Sunday at Principal Park. With the loss, Iowa fell to 2-3 on the season in shutouts.

John Andreoli led off the first with a single to left and Iowa wouldn't get another hit until Jeimer Candelario looped a base knock to center field in the seventh. Former Cub farmhand Paul Blackburn (4-5), Nashville's starter, spun seven two-hit innings, allowing one walk while fanning four.

Williams Perez (0-6) was locked in, allowing one hit through five. The Sounds broke through in the sixth with a pair of hits that eventually scored the first run of the ballgame. The Iowa bullpen took over after 5.1 innings and let Nashville pad its lead. The Sounds added insurance with a run in the seventh and three in the eighth, highlighted by a two-run homer from Ryan Lavarnway. Matt Chapman contributed with his own homer in the ninth to solidify the final score.

Candelario accounted for half of Iowa's offense, going 2-for-3 with a walk. Andreoli finished the day 1-for-3 with a walk and Chesny Young notched Iowa's only other hit.

The Oklahoma City Dodgers travel to Des Moines to begin a five-game set with Iowa at Principal Park beginning tomorrow at 7:08 p.m. For more information or tickets, visit www.iowacubs.com.=
