Sierra Leads 'Cakes to Road Win

Round Rock, Texas - Moises Sierra drilled a first inning three run home run and the 'Cakes cruised to a 7-1 victory against the Round Rock Express.

The Express answered in the bottom of the first inning with a run. Jurickson Profar doubled advanced to third base on a throwing error and scored on a groundout.

The 'Cakes offense erupted with four more runs in the fourth inning to extend its lead to 7-1. Brandon Barnes tripled and had two hits and an RBI in the game. Tomas Telis added three hits as New Orleans finished the game with ten hits.

Javy Guerra earned the win in relief pitching two and two third innings of scoreless relief. The 'Cakes limited the Express to the one run and a total of three hits in the game.

Round Rock starter Anthony Bass labored throwing 104 pitches and allowed five runs in three innings to take the loss.

The 'Cakes snapped a four game losing streak (19-36). GAME NOTES: Sierra matched a season high with four RBI. The 'Cakes snapped a nine game losing streak within the division to improve to 2-11 in division play.

UPCOMING- New Orleans returns home on Monday to host the St. Louis Cardinals Triple A affiliate the Memphis Redbirds at 7pm. The 'Cakes will start TBD against RHP Luke Weaver at 1pm. Radio: Fox Sports 1280 AM, and the iHeart Radio App.
