Dr Pepper/Seven-Up Ballpark, Frisco, TX - Arkansas Travelers C Mike Napoli has been named the Texas League Player of the Week, for May 23 through May 29. The announcement comes today from league president Tom Kayser. Napoli batted .476 avg (10 hits â 21 ab), with 3 home runs, 8 RBI, 2 doubles, 6 runs scored and 4 walks. Napoli's three home runs all came in consecutive games at Midland, with 1 solo shot, a 2-run homer and a 3-run homer. Mike sent a homer to right field, a homer to center and a home run to left field.
Napoli, 23, is currently in his sixth professional season after the Angels drafted him in the 17th round of the 2000 draft out of Charles Flanagan (FL) High School. With 47 games played, Napoli is hitting .301 avg. with 7 home runs, 32 RBI, 14 doubles, 35 runs scored and a league leading 34 walks.
