ELMIRA, NY -- Andrew Orpik's goal at 1;26 into overtime, lifted the Wheeling Nailers to a 3-2 win over the Elmira Jackals.at First Arena Friday night.

Elmira struck first 8:06 into the game. Moments after the Nailers killed off a penalty, Yannick Tifu, fresh out of the penalty box, would pick the up the puck and race into the zone and feed a pass to Justin Donati, who slipped the puck back side past Patrick Killeen.

In the second, the Nailers tied the game at one on a shorthanded goal by David Marshall. Marshall picked up his own rebound and roofed it top shelf over Jackals goaltender Marco Cousineau.

In the third period the Nailers would get their first lead of the game on Marshall's second goal of the night at 10:43. The lead would not last long. Justin Donati was not to be outdone by Marshall when he scored his second goal of the night just :22 later.

In overtime, Andrew Orpik clinched the win for Wheeling. Orpik fired a wild shot from the boards, which slipped past Cousineau and into the net. The win improves the Nailers record to 2-1 on the season. Elmira drops its second consecutive game in overtime, and fall to 1-0-2-1.

The Nailers will take on the Trenton Devils tomorrrow night at the Cambria War Memorial in Johnstown. The two teams will meet again on Sunday at Wesbanco Arena at 5 p.m. Sunday's game marks the first of several Cartoon Character nights this season. SpongeBob SquarePants will be on hand this Sunday.
