Jones Called up to Manchester

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, announced that goaltender Martin Jones has been called up to the AHL's Manchester Monarchs.

Jones made his professional debut with the Reign on October 16 in Stockton. He recorded a goals against average of 3.76 and a save percentage of .867 in the 5-4 OT win over the Thunder.

Jones, 20, started his hockey career with the Calgary Hitmen (WHL). While with the Hitmen, Jones posted a record of 108-28-9, a goals against average of 2.24 and a .912 save percentage. During the 2009-10 season, the Vancouver native led the WHL with a 2.21 goals against average, was named to the First Team All-Star, and was honored as WHL Goaltender of the Year. Jones backstopped the Hitmen to the 2009-10 WHL Championship and won a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2010 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.
