Washington Mystics News Release
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Mystics announced today that they have re-signed free-agent veteran guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough.
Walker-Kimbrough (5'9, 140) returns to the Mystics after appearing in 35 games (three starts) for Washington last season. The Maryland product averaged 6.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.15 assists and 1.1 steals in 20.1 minutes per game.
"Shatori has been an integral part of the Mystics' success and was a major priority for us during free agency," said General Manager Mike Thibault. "Her ability and energy at both ends of the court has a great impact on how we play. Her offensive game continues to expand, and she has become an excellent defender on all the perimeter positions. We see her as a mainstay on our roster. Welcome back Shatori!"
The six-year pro, who was a member of the 2019 Mystics Championship Team, totaled career-bests in points (241), free throw made (55) and attempts (61), rebounds (64), assists (53) and steals (37) during the 2022 season. Walker-Kimbrough, 27, has appeared in 153 career games (36 starts) with Washington (2017-2019, 2021-2022), Phoenix (2020) and Connecticut (2021), holding averages of 6.0 points and 1.4 rebounds.
The Maryland product was originally selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft by Washington.
The Washington Mystics tip off the 2023 season at home on Friday, May 19 versus the New York Liberty at 7:00 p.m. For information on Mystics Club 52 full season memberships, presented by Ticketmaster, and to secure your seats for the upcoming season, please visit www.washingtonmystics.com.
