Washington, D.C. - Training camp for the Washington Mystics will begin on Sunday, April 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Verizon Center. The following players are on the 2006 Training Camp roster:

Washington's training camp roster features Alana Beard, Chasity Melvin, Coco Miller and 2006 WNBA Draft pick Tamara James. DeLisha Milton-Jones, Nikki Teasley and Crystal Robinson will join the team following their overseas commitment. Nakia Sanford sustained a broken right pinkie finger while playing overseas and will be evaluated throughout training camp.

"It should be a competitive training camp. We are three deep every position and we feel that we have a great mix of veteran and new players," said Hargrove. "We look forward to molding this group of talented players and anticipate a successful season."

The team will cut its roster to 15 on Tuesday, May 2nd before making its final cut on Friday, May 19th. Following Sunday's practice, the team will spend the first week of training camp at Gallaudet University and will practice from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Washington will host four time WNBA Champions Houston Comets for its preseason game on Saturday, May 13th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $ 10.00 and will be on sale on April 5th. The 2006 Mystics season kicks off on Tuesday, May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. when the team hosts conference rival, New York Liberty. Single-game tickets as well as season tickets and partial plans can be purchased by calling 1.877-DC.HOOP1 or by visiting the Mystics web site at www.washingtonmystics.com
