Musketeers Help Raise $66,398 for Boys & Girls Home & Family Services

A record-breaking crowd at the 19th annual Face Off for Charity Event to support Boys and Girls Home, in partnership with the Sioux City Musketeers, scored BIG!

This years event, held February 18-20, 2016 was made possible with the support of numerous local sponsors including Applebee's, KCAU, Coors Light, 102.3 and 101.3, Wrenn's Plumbing, Wheelock, Jensen and Bursick Dentistry, Foulk Bros., the Sioux City Journal and Randy Stabe Auction and Realty. The success of Face Off for Charity is attributed to the commitment of the community and board member volunteers to bring awareness to the need for mental health and behavioral services to children and families. This year boasts a total of $66,398.00 raised with a 19 year total of $640,868.00 to impact and change lives of those in Siouxland.

Terri Dooley, Executive Vice President of Development at Boys and Girls Home stated, " This event showcases the power of teamwork and the benefits of setting goals, something we want our children to practice everyday at the agency. "

Thank you goes out to the Musketeers players, coaches and management staff who were closely involved with the planning and success of Face Off for Charity. The Musketeers players visit the Residential Treatment Program at the agency yearly to see firsthand how their involvement helps to change lives. "After the visit, Musketeers players' parents from around the world told us how much they appreciated not only the quality of the Musketeers program, but also the team's commitment to engaging their players in volunteer work for the benefit of others," Dooley said.

"The Sioux City Musketeers continue to be amazed by the support of the Siouxland area for this fundraising effort and I know both organizations benefit greatly from this partnership", said Rich Zaber, Musketeers Executive Vice President. "Watching our staff, players and fans participate while assisting this worthy cause is very gratifying. I am pleased to be a part of an organization that fully commits to the development of young men's athletic skills as well as their character."

Boys and Girls Home and Family Services Inc. have been helping children and families since 1895. The agency provides programming that not only serves Residential Treatment of adolescents, but an alternative education program as well as outpatient therapeutic services to children, individuals and families. Boys and Girls Home and Family Services, Inc. are accredited with the Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission and is a United Way of Siouxland partner agency.
