Omaha Lancers News Release

Muskegon, MI - William Fallstrom scored his fourth goal in three games but it was Rem Pitlick and the Muskegon Lumberjacks scoring late in regulation, and late in overtime, to secure a 3-2 victory over the Omaha Lancers on Friday night in front of 1,985 at L.C. Walker Arena.

Early in the first period, William Fallstrom extended his goal-scoring streak to three games with his fifth of the season. Brian Williams crossed over center ice and played the puck below the goal line. Fallstrom chased down the puck to the left of Lumberjacks goaltender Joey Daccord. After getting to the puck first, the University of Minnesota commit threw it on net and it banked off the pads of Daccord and into the net for a 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by Williams and came 4:20 into the game.

Late in the first period, Omaha took a two-goal lead on their first power play of the night. After a face-off win by Josh French, Jacob Bryson skated to his left and dished the puck back to Josh French at the top of the offensive zone circle. French took a couple of steps in and let a hard slap shot go that sailed through traffic and over the glove of Joey Daccord for a 2-0 lead. The goal came with only 2:04 left in the first period and was French's 12th of the year.

After no scoring in the second period, the comeback for Muskegon began 7:51 into the third. Former Omaha Lancers defenseman took a shot from the top of the right wing circle and Giovanni Carabelli deflected the puck to the right of Lancers goaltender Kris Oldham to pull back within one goal. It was Carabelli's second goal of the season with Gabriele tallying one assist and Matej Paulovic with the secondary helper.

Rem Pitlick was held off the scoreboard all game until late in regulation with the Lumberjacks trailing the Lancers, 2-1. Pitlick took the puck at the blue line and moved quickly into the Lancers defensive zone down the right wing wall. When he got to the dot, Pitlick lifted the puck over the left shoulder of Oldham on the short side to tie the game with only 1:25 to go in the game. The goal was Pitlick's 31st of the season with assists from Graham Lillibridge and Matej Paulovic for Paulovic's his second assist of the night.

In overtime, the two team's switched to three-on-three with just under four minutes to go in the extra time. Rem Pitlick struck again and scored the game-winning goal on a rebound in front of the net. After an original save by Oldham, Pitlick scooped up the loose puck and lifted it over a diving Oldham for the win at 6:12 of the overtime period. The lone assist on Pitlick's 32nd of the year went to Collin Adams.

Kris Oldham stopped 28 of 31 shots on the night in the loss.
