Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Visalia, CA - A ninth-inning sac fly from Samuel Munoz capped a big day for the Rancho outfielder, as the Quakes beat the Rawhide by a score of 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at Valley Strong Ballpark.

Munoz, who clubbed a two-run go-ahead homer in the seventh, delivered for the second time in as many at-bats in the ninth. Tied at 2-2, the Quakes got consecutive singles from Jordan Thompson and Logan Wagner to open the inning against Rawhide closer Yordin Chalas (0-1). That brought Munoz to the plate, with his fly ball to shallow-left scoring Thompson for a 3-2 lead.

Joseilyn Gonzalez worked around a one-out double in the ninth, striking out Jackson Feltner to end the game and earn his first save of the year.

Reynaldo Yean (2-0) retired all four batters he faced for the win in relief. Roque Gutierrez had a great start in the no-decision, allowing just one run over five innings.

The Quakes (19-12) finish their road trip at just 5-7, but won four of six against Visalia for the series-win. They'll return to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, May 14, hosting Inland Empire for a six-game set. Patrick Copen (2-2) is set to face Barrett Kent in the series-opener at 6pm.

Tuesday the 14th will be a Healthy RC Recycle Tuesday, where fans can score a free Club Seat to the game by visiting our website. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. Go Quakes
