CHARLOTTE, NC - The Mississippi Sea Wolves concluded a five-game road swing with a 2-0 win over the Charlotte Checkers at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC on Tuesday evening

The Sea Wolves broke the scoreless tie in the second period when Ryan Cruthers potted his team-leading 10th goal of the season on the power play when his centering pass bounced off the skate of Checkers defenseman Chris Murray and past goaltender Jeff Jakaitis at 12:35.

Mark Rooneem iced the win whe he split the Charlotte defensemen, went to the backhand and beat Jakaitis over the pad to give the Sea Wolves a 2-0 lead at 18:05 of the third period.

Ryan Munce made 34 saves to earn his first shutout of the season and his fourth in a Sea Wolves sweater, and the Mississippi power play was 1-for-5.

NOTEBOOK: Michael Couch missed his eighth consecutive game with a lower-body injury... Defensemen Chris Zarb and Mike Nesdill remain sidelined with lower-body injuries... Justin Coutu is expected to return from an upper-body injury this... Chase Trull was returned from Philadelphia of the American Hockey League on Monday... The Rockwood, Ont.-native appeared in four games since being called up last weekend and was -1 and earned a major for fighting Bridgeport's Pascal Morency.
