FRESNO, Calif. - Jason Norrie tallied a power play goal and Ryan Munce made 31 saves through overtime, but J.F. Plourde's fifth-round shootout conversion handed the Bakersfield Condors a 2-1 loss to the Fresno Falcons in front of 9,891 fans at the Save Mart Center.

The Condors power play clicked early in the first period. Reagan Leslie fired a slapshot from the center of the blue line into the pads of Fresno netminder Jamie Holden. The rebound trailed toward Jason Norrie along the far post, who tapped it past the right toe of Holden to give the Condors a 1-0 lead with 15:32 left in the period.

Fresno answered back in the opening seconds of the second, when Peter Fregoe lifted the puck under the crossbar on a feed from the near circle by J.F. Plourde. Luke Curtin assisted as the Falcons tied the game just 22 seconds following the period's opening faceoff.

Following an eventful third period which saw a Plourde goal ruled the result of a distinct kicking motion and waved off, as well as a back-and-forth overtime period, the Condors and Falcons headed to a shootout.

Fresno's first shooter, Cory Murphy, converted his attempt with a deke past Ryan Munce's right side. The Condors tied the shootout on Scott Borders' wrister in the slot, but were unable to score the rest of the way. The Falcons sealed the win when Plourde lifted the puck past Munce's blocker in the final round.

Other notes: Former Condors captain Paul Rosebush returned to the lineup, finishing with an even plus-minus and recording two PIMs.

Jamie Holden earned the victory, stopping 40 of 41 Bakersfield shots. Ryan Munce was credited with the loss, despite making 31 saves on 32 Falcon attempts.

The Condors then return home to host the Florida Everblades tomorrow, January 15th. All fans in attendance will receive a Condors Cheer Sign courtesy of Bright House Networks, Lennar Homes, Hot 94.1 and the Bakersfield Californian. Immediately following the game fans are invited downstairs to skate with the Condors. Participants are encouraged to bring their own skates, or skate rental will be available for $5 per pair, based on availability.
