ROUND ROCK - Round Rock Express left-handed pitcher Josh Muecke was selected to the 2008 Pacific Coast League All-Star Team on Thursday and will represent the squad in the Triple-A All-Star Game in Louisville, Kent. on Wednesday, July 16.

Muecke, 26, is 6-6 with five no decisions over 17 starts with the Express this season. The San Diego native has fanned 64 in a team-high 99 2/3 innings and carries a 3.88 ERA, 10th best in the PCL.

He has limited left-handed hitters to a .192 batting average and posted his strongest start of the year on June 28, holding Nashville to two runs on four hits on eight strikeouts over seven innings. The start marked the sixth time Muecke had gone at least six innings without allowing more than two earned runs.

Muecke, who has gone at least six innings in 11 of his outings in 2008, was 9-5 in 32 games (16 starts) with Double-A Corpus Christi in 2007. His 3.90 ERA ranked 10th in the Texas League and he was named Corpus Christi Pitcher of the Month in August after posting a 3-0 record with a 2.52 ERA over six games.

An alumnus of Loyola Marymount (Cali.), Muecke played water polo for four years in high school and was selected by the Houston Astros in the third round of the 2003 draft.

This year's selection to the 2008 Pacific Coast League All-Star squad is the first all-star selection for Muecke.
