CORPUS POWERS PAST THE MUDBUGS – Last Thursday, the Corpus Christi IceRays scored two power play goals and defeated the Mudbugs 3-1 at the CenturyTel Center. Trevor Buchanan opened the scoring for the Bugs with his fifth goal of the season with assists from Chris Chelios and Forbes MacPherson. The IceRays' Cosmo Dupaul scored late in the first period on the power play to even the score, which lasted until the midway point of the third period. In the third, Rob Giffin tipped a Brett Colborne pass into the net to beat G Ken Carroll for the game-winning goal. John Sicinski added an empty net goal to seal the IceRays' seventh win of the season.

ROUND 1: MEMPHIS EDGES THE BUGS – The Mudbugs made their third trip of the year to Memphis on Friday and suffered a 3-2 loss at the hands of the RiverKings. Brian Tucker gave Memphis a 1-0 lead nine minutes into the game. In the second period, Sergei Visegorodcevs scored on a shorthanded two-on-one to give the RiverKings a two-goal advantage. But the Mudbugs battled back to tie the game on goals from Trevor Buchanan and Dan Wildfong on the power play. However, the game-winner came late in the second period as Ben Gorewich deflected a shot from Luch Nasato past G Jonathan Forest to give Memphis the lead for good. Forest suffered the loss, despite making 32 saves.

ROUND 2: PARSONS LEADS MEMPHIS TO 5-3 WIN – Saturday night, the Mudbugs and Memphis RiverKings shifted the scene to the CenturyTel Center for their second consecutive meeting. This time, Forbes MacPherson started the scoring in the first period on a two-on-one play with Willie Hubloo. However, Don Parsons would then take control to give the RiverKings the lead. Parsons scored late in the first period and early in the second to give Memphis their first lead. Trailing 3-1, the Mudbugs got goals from Chad Spurr and MacPherson again to tie the game in the second period. Parsons, however, completed the hat trick in the third and Kahlil Thomas added an empty netter to give the RiverKings their second win of the weekend over the Bugs. The loss extended the Mudbugs' winless streak to six games and they have not won at home since October 31st.
