SCORPIONS ON THE RADIO - The Scorpions are teaming up this season with SportsRadio 610 The Sports Animal to bring you all of the Scorpions action on the radio. Mike Sheehan is in his first season as the Voice of the Scorpions. Tuesday's game is scheduled to air on SportsRadio 610 The Sports Animal while Friday and Saturday's games will air on Talk Radio 1050 KTBL.

SCORPIONS HOCKEY TALK - The Scorpions' weekly radio talk show continues this Wednesday night from 6 to 7 p.m., live on location at the Corner Pocket, 9603 Lomas NE just west of Eubank. Scorpions Hockey Talk features Scorpions coach Pat Dunn and the "Voice of the Scorpions" Mike Sheehan, along with special guests each week.

SCORPIONS TICKETS AND EVENTS - Friday's game with Odessa is Bright Ideas Water Bottle Night for the first 1,000 fans. Saturday's game with Amarillo is ABC Seamless T-Shirt Night for the first 1,000 fans.

SCORPIONS RECAP -

TULSA 6, SCORPIONS 0 - The Oilers broke open a close game with four goals in the third period as they took a 6-0 win over the Scorpions on Tuesday in Tulsa. Scott Myers made 32 saves before giving way to Luciano Caravaggio in the third period.

SCORPIONS 10, EL PASO 1 - Chris Richards recorded a hat trick and three assists as the Scorpions rolled to a 10-1 win over their archrivals from El Paso. Peter Ambroziak added a goal and four assists while Arturs Kupaks scored twice and added an assist. The Scorpions scored four times in the first period and led 6-1 after two. Luciano Caravaggio made 16 saves as the Scorpions allowed a season-low 17 shots for the game and just one in the third period.

TULSA 6, SCORPIONS 5 - Pete Brearley factored into the scoring on all five Scorpions goals with two goals and three assists, but Tulsa rallied for a 6-5 win over the Scorpions. Peter Ambroziak scored once and chipped in two assists while Mario Dumoulin and Arturs Kupaks each had a goal and assist for the Scorpions. Scott Myers made 28 saves in goal.

SCORPIONS MATCH-UPS -

LAREDO - The Bucks make the second and final trip of the season to Tingley Coliseum tomorrow night after having their 11-game unbeaten streak (9-0-2) ended in San Angelo on Saturday. The Scorpions took a 3-2 shootout win on Nov. 8 in a game that featured 183 PIM. The teams meet one more time, on Feb. 14 in Laredo. The Bucks lead the CHL offensively with 4.06 goals per game, while winger Eric Schneider tops the league with 29 points and is second with 14 goals. Chris Grenville has snuck into the top 15 with 22 points (11g-11a). Defenseman Michel Periard leads CHL blueliners with 18 points (6g-12a). Former Lubbock goalie Lance Leslie is 6-3-2 with a 3.13 GAA. The Bucks will be without Dion Hyman, who will serve the final game of his eight-game suspension and Matt Smith, who was traded last week by the Bucks' AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.

ODESSA - Three games so far, three games decided by a 3-2 score in overtime. The Scorpions took the first two while the Jackalopes won the last meeting on Nov. 16 in Odessa. John Bossio leads the Jacks with 17 points (9g-8a) in 17 games, while Mike Rutter (5g-11a-16pts) and defenseman Scott Hillman (5g-10a-15pts) are right behind. The Jackalopes continue to employ their defensive style, ranking third in the CHL allowing 2.12 goals per game. Goalie Mike Gorman is third in the circuit with a 1.90 GAA.

AMARILLO - The Gorillas make their first appearance of the season in Albuquerque after blanking the Scorps 2-0 on Nov. 2 in Amarillo. Henry Kuster leads the Gorillas with 11 goals and 15 points, followed by Dorian Anneck with 11 points (2g-9a) who is the only other player in double figures. Ex-Scorpion goalie Steve Debus is in the top ten in the league with a 5-2-0 record and 2.30 GAA. The teams meet seven more times after Saturday's contest, the next being back at Tingley on Thursday, Dec. 19 in the game that was originally scheduled for Dec. 21.

AMBROZIAK AMBLING ALONG - Veteran winger Peter Ambroziak had a hot weekend with eight points in his last two games. The 31 year-old Kanata, Ontario native posted a goal and four assists in Friday's romp over El Paso. He was a +6 in the game, the best plus/minus rating in the CHL so far this season and tied his career best, set in a 14-5 blowout of Arkansas on March 4, 2000. Ambroziak scored once and added two assists on Saturday. He is currently third on the Scorpions with 20 points (8g-12a) in 15 games.

BREARLEY BUSTS OUT - Pete Brearley was another Scorpion who had a good weekend offensively. Brearley had a goal and two assists in Friday's win, then tied a career-high with five points (one goal, four assists) in Saturday's loss to Tulsa. Brearley is second on the team with 11 goals and 21 points.

STINGERS - The Scorpions set numerous season-high marks in Friday's 10-1 rout of El Paso, most notably the ten-goal outburst was a season high in the CHL. Chris Richards' hat trick was the second of his career, having recorded his first on Feb. 10 against Amarillo. Mike O'Malley recorded the first two-goal game of his career. Defenseman Stephen Margeson recorded three assists in that same game, the best performance of his young career. Luciano Caravaggio is tied for fourth in the CHL with seven wins. Scorpions defensemen Mario Dumoulin (6g-10a) and Arturs Kupaks (4g-12a) are tied for fourth among league defensemen with 16 points. Dumoulin's six goals puts him in a first place tie.
