Wichita Thunder News Release
WICHITA, KS- Former Thunder defenseman Sean O'Reilly was named Director of Community Relations, Assistant General Manager Joel T. Lomurno announced today.
The top scoring defenseman in Thunder history, O'Reilly played 311 games for Wichita from 1997-2002. He was named the Thunder Community Service Award winner following both the 2001 and 2002 seasons.
"Sean was one of the most popular players to ever wear a Thunder uniform", said Lomurno. "He will be a tremendous asset to both the Thunder organization and the Wichita community".
A graduate of Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, O'Reilly has served as a substitute teacher for USD 259 in Wichita for the last four years. He is actively involved in Big Brothers, Big Sisters, D.A.R.E. and the Communities in Schools program and received the Good Apple Award for the 2002 Fall Term at Wilbur Middle School. The Thunder also named Alitia McMullen Director of Ticket Sales. McMullen has served as ticket sales/game day intern since October. Sage Marler, a public relations intern since 1998, will now handle all game day public relations duties.
"Both Alitia and Sage have really stepped it up over the last month", said Lomurno. "They are both very worthy and capable of handling the extra responsibility."
