
Conference Races in Tight Form Early on

With a pair of wins over Fort Worth on the weekend, the Ice moved into second place in the CHL's Northeast Division. Indy, who has games in hand with every member of its division, has three games in three nights this week against divisional opponents Memphis and Bossier-Shreveport. The Ice begins the week with a home and series with the defending CHL Champion RiverKings and concludes the weekend on Saturday with a road game in Louisiana against the Mudbugs.
SWEET HOME INDIANA: The home confines of the Pepsi Coliseum and Conseco Fieldhouse continue to wield positive results as the team is 5-0-3 in its last eight home games and its only regulation loss came in the second game of the season in a 4-3 loss to Memphis on 10/19/02. In addition, nine of the ten home games have been decided by just one goal with the Ice earning 12 of a possible 18 points, while compiling a 4-1-4 record in those nine games.
SHOOTOUT SUCCESS STORY: The Ice emerged from the shootout doldrums with a convincing 2-1 shootout victory over the Fort Worth Brahmas this past Saturday night. Indy went a perfect three for three in the shooout on goals from Randy Holmes, Scott Lewis and Kevin St. Jacques, while goaltender Shawn Silver turned back three of four Brahmas' attempts. The trio of Holmes, Lewis and St. Jacques have been the top scorers in the extra sessions this season, as the threesome have combined for 10 of the 12 goals. Silver has two of the three wins between the pipes. With the victory, the club improved to 3-4 this season in the shootout.
FRY GUYS: Bernie John has a four-game point streak (1G, 5A)...Ryan Aikia has six assists in his last four games...Kevin St. Jacques has eight points (5G, 3A) in his last seven games...Four of Etienne Morins' five goals on the year have been of the game-tying variety...Bryce Classen has four points (1G, 3A) in his last three games...Goaltender Shawn Silver is 4-0-2 in its last six outings between the pipes and his overall 1.94 goals-against-average ranks fourth in the CHL.
MILESTONE WATCH: Bernie John is five points shy of 500 for his pro career...Andrew Taylor is one game away from 300 for his pro career, while Ryan Aikia is three games shy of 350 for his pro career...Randy Holmes is one point shy of 450 for his pro career and two games shy of 450 for his pro career.
ICE GAZE: The Ice held Fort Worth on Saturday to an opponent season-low 20 shots....The Ice is 5-3-2 when it outshoots its opponent...The Ice has killed off 14 straight opponents' power plays and ranks third at home (37/39, 94.9%) and fourth overall (59/65, 90.8%) in the CHL in the penalty killing department...Nine of the team's 15 contests have gone to the overtime/shootout.
"FAMILY DAY" ON THANKSGIVING: The Thanksgiving Day match-up with the CHL defending champions is a "Marsh Family Day," where one kid 12 and under gets in for free with a full paying adult who presents a Marsh Fresh Idea Card.

ICE WINS OVERTIME THRILLER OVER BRAHMAS, 4-3
* Bernie John's goal with :18 seconds left in overtime gave the Ice the win...Greg Olsen, Kevin St. Jacques and Bryce Classen also scored for Indy, while Shawn Silver earned the victory in net.
ICE OVER BRAHMAS IN SHOOTOUT, 2-1
* Etienne Morin tied the game at one apiece late in the third period to send the game into the extra session...Randy Holmes, Scott Lewis and Kevin St. Jacques all connected in the shootout, while Shawn Silver was once again victorious between the pipes.
