BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will complete a six-game homestand with back-to-back games against the Evansville IceMen this week at the CenturyTel Center. Thursday at 6:35 pm the ¬ËBugs host "Hockey Education Night", while Friday ¬â¢s 7:05 pm game is our "Power the Cure" effort against head and neck cancer. Throughout Friday ¬â¢s game against Evansville the Mudbugs are teaming up with Willis-Knighton Health System to "Power the Cure" and raise awareness about head and neck cancer, which is directly attributed to the use of tobacco products. Along with Willis-Knighton Sports Medicine and Cancer Center, helping to make the event possible are special guest Jennifer Bland and the Jason Bland "Power the Cure" Foundation. We ¬â¢re asking fans to get involved in the theme by wearing purple to Friday ¬â¢s game as we spread awareness and promote education about head and neck cancer, including safe alternatives to tobacco. Willis-Knighton is also providing chewing gum with the message "Chew on This", which will be handed out to fans as they exit the arena Friday night.
