Mississippi RiverKings News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Tomorrow night at CenturyTel Center, it's an important Northeast Division matchup as the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs host the rival Mississippi RiverKings at 7:05 pm, presented by International Used Truck Center of Shreveport. The Mudbugs close out a three-game homestand tomorrow night before heading out on a season-high six-game road trip, so don't miss this opportunity to see your 'Bugs at home as they host Mississippi.
The Mudbugs and RiverKings are both right in the thick of the standings race in the Northern Conference, with just a two-point gap separating the two longtime rivals. Bossier-Shreveport is 18-11-2 with 38 points, while Mississippi sits at 20-11-0 for 40 points. Both teams have moved to within striking distance of division leader Oklahoma City, as the 'Kings are now within two points of the Blazers.
This will be the fifth meeting of the season between Bossier-Shreveport and Mississippi and the third one at CenturyTel Center this year. The Mudbugs won all of their first three meetings with the RiverKings, winning back-to-back 6-2 decisions in October and then taking a tight 4-3 contest here in Bossier City on November 12. Mississippi owned the last meeting though, handing the 'Bugs their worst loss since 2002 in a 6-0 win on New Year's Eve in Southaven, Mississippi. The Mudbugs will no doubt be looking to come out strong Tuesday night and get back in the win column against the RiverKings, who will bring a four-game winning streak with them to Bossier City.
The Mudbugs won't play another home game until January 24, so get your tickets for this important divisional matchup today. Individual seats are on sale through Ticketmaster at 318-741-9700 or at the CenturyTel Center box office. Group tickets and Mudbugs flex ticket packages are available through the team office inside CenturyTel Center, so call 318-752-BUGS or stop by today to get yours!
