
Jacks Lose Two, 13 Points Ahead in First Place

(Odessa, TX) - For the first time since November 14th and 15th the Jackalopes lost a pair of Friday/Saturday games over this past weekend. Despite the two losses the Jacks still hold a 14 point lead for first place in the Southwest Division.

This week's games: Friday @ Arizona, Saturday @ Arizona
Wednesday @ Amarillo, 5-2 Win
Kory Karlander (one goal, three assists) had a four point night while Mike Ramsay (two goals, one assists) and Dominic Leveille (three assists) each has three points as well. Ramsay's first goal proved to be the game winner as the Jacks closed out 2008 with a win.
Friday @ Bossier-Shreveport, 5-2 Loss
After a scoreless first period, the Jackalopes allowed four goals in the second period to the Mudbugs and never came back. Collin Circelli did make it interesting in the third, scoring a pair of Odessa goals, but the Mudbugs added an empty netter towards to end to pull away.
Saturday @ Corpus Christi, 2-1 Loss (SO)
Kris Tebbs played his best game of the season in net for the IceRays, stopping 44 shots in regulation and overtime then turning away four of five Odessa shooters in the shootout round. Dominic Leveille scored the only Odessa goals, one in the second period and the other in round four of the shootout. The Jacks lost for the second time this season to Corpus.

It's a battle of first and second place in the Southwest Division this weekend between Odessa and Arizona. The top two goal scorers will be showcased in this weekend series between Odessa's Sebastien Thinel and Arizona's Joel Irving - both players have 23 goals this season. This will be the Jacks first trip back to Prescott Valley, AZ since opening the season there on October 17th and 18th.
The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team is currently in its 12th season. Season tickets, mini-plans, and single game tickets are available by calling (432) 552-PUCK or visiting jackalopes.org.
