Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

Youngstown, OH -- The Mudbugs had their seven game winning streak snapped in a 5-3 loss to the Youngstown SteelHounds in a game that featured four game misconducts on Friday night.

Youngstown capitalized in the early going on the power play when Chris Richards beat Mudbugs goaltender Adam Hanna. Jeff Christian followed with a deflection from the point to give the Hounds a 2-0 edge after one period.

A five goal second period saw Youngstown answer every single Mudbugs score. Cam Abbott scored on a even strength deflection from the point, but Jeff Christian was quick to score a shorthanded goal for Youngstown soon after. Chris Abbott delivered on a Mudbugs shorthanded goal when Cam Abbott dug the puck out of the corner. Youngstown answered again, this time with Mark Johnson scoring on a breakaway. The Hounds would tally once more taking a 5-2 lead into the third period.

Over 60 minutes of penalties were called in the third period after a monster skirmish between both teams. Jason Basile and Jason Williamson were tossed out for Bossier-Shreveport while Tab Lardner and Mark Johnson were booted out for Youngstown. Chris Brassard scored on the power play as the Mudbugs lost 5-3.
