February 9, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs are excited to announce that John DeCaro has been selected as the Sher-Wood Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for January of 2007.

DeCaro won eight out of nine games throughout the month of January, including a four game stretch where he posted a stingy 1.00 goals-against average. His overall goals-against average of 2.24 and save percentage of .931 are the best among all CHL goaltenders. DeCaro recorded a career best eight straight victories prior to being called up to the Philadelphia Phantoms of the AHL this past weekend.

It's the first time the rookie goaltender has been selected for such an honor, only weeks after being named to the 2007 Dodge Central Hockey League All-Star Game on January 17th.
