Mudbugs Head to Mississippi for Preseason Tilts

BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will be in action this weekend in Southaven, Mississippi for a pair of preseason bouts against the Mississippi RiverKings at the DeSoto Civic Center. The games at 6:05 pm Saturday and 3:05 pm Sunday will mark the third straight year the two teams have faced-off in the preseason.
Some of the 23 players in Bossier-Shreveport's training camp will use the games as opportunities to fine-tune their skills as they get back into game shape, while others will be looking to prove that they deserve a spot on the club's 19-man season opening roster next week.
The 'Bugs and 'Kings will then open the regular season against one another next week in a home-and-home series starting at 7:05 pm next Friday at the CenturyTel Center and concluding next Saturday back at the DCC.
This weekend's preseason games will not be carried on local radio or CHL TV, but fans wishing to keep tabs on the Mudbugs can access the online stream for Mississippi's radio broadcasts by clicking the "Listen Live" button at www.sports56whbq.com .
