Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

Comstock Park, MI - Taylor Motter struck three hits on Wednesday night at Fifth Third Ballpark, but the Bowling Green Hot Rods (3-3, 41-35) fell to the West Michigan Whitecaps (4-2, 40-36) 7-0. The win secured a three-game series sweep for the Whitecaps over the Hot Rods, who finish the six-game road trip 3-3. The Hot Rods were stymied by West Michigan's Wilsen Palacios, who did not allow a run in 7.2 frames.

Motter was the lone Hot Rod to have success at the plate as he recorded his second three-hit performance of the season. The rest of the Hot Rods offense managed just three hits off of Palacios, who won his ninth game of the year.

In the series sweep for the Whitecaps, their offense outscored Bowling Green's 26-12. In nine game against West Michigan this year, the Hot Rods have won just twice. Bowling Green must win on Thursday night at home against Lansing to avoid the team's first four-game losing streak of the year.

Speaking of which, the Hot Rods are back in town on Thursday night to begin a six-game homestand with the first of a three-game series with the Lansing Lugnuts at 7:05 PM. The Hot Rods will send RHP Parker Markel (2-4, 4.89) to the mound, while the Lugnuts will counter with RHP Noah Syndergaard (3-2, 3.51). Tune in to the game on 1340-AM "The Ticket" and online at 1340wbgn.com. The Forever Communications Pregame Show with Hank Fuerst begins at 6:45 PM.

Thursday night is another Thrifty Thursday where fans receive $2 food and drink specials. It is also Dairy Night presented by the Kentucky Dairy Farm Families and Dairy Industry and Nat's Outdoor Sports Bicycle Safety Awareness Day.
