Detroit - The Cruise announced today that they have claimed Marcus Thornton from the available player pool.
The former LSU Tiger was the 43rd overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat. Thornton made his NBA debut during the 2009-10 season with the New Orleans Hornets. Thornton appeared in 73 games (17 starts) and posted clips of 14.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists over a span of 25.6 minutes per game.
During his eight-year NBA career, Thornton has appeared in 483 games (135) starts with the Hornets, Kings, Nets, Celtics, Suns, Rockets, and Wizards. Thornton holds career averages of 11.9 points. 2.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists over a span of 23.4 minutes.
Thornton will wear #26 for the Motor Cruise.
