
Motley, Warney Duo Too Big for Skyforce

SIOUX FALLS, SD, (Mar. 3, 2018) - Johnathan Motley had a season-high 34 points while Jameel Warney tied his season-high 15 rebounds as the duo led the Texas Legends (24-18) to a 125-118 victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce (23-19) Saturday night in South Dakota.
Texas got a head start in the first behind a 10-point performance from Motley. Ahead by three, the visitors used another double-digit output from the Mavericks' two-way to go up by as many as 20 in the second, maintaining a 12-point edge at the break.
The tables turned in the third as Sioux Falls outscored the Legends 39-25 to charge into the final 12 minutes up 91-89. Jalen Jones put up 12 of his 25 points in the fourth, and after five lead changes, Texas took control midway through for the final time.
Texas shot 53% on the night while Sioux Falls finished at 45%. The win wrapped up a season series sweep (3-0) for the Legends and boosted them back to second place in the Southwest Division.
Motley (34 points, 10 rebounds) and Warney (25 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists) led the game in scoring and boards while Damon Lynn came off the bench for 14 points and a team-high 7 assists. Jones rounded off the double-digit scoring with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.
Briante Weber led the Skyforce with 25 points, 7 rebounds while Kadeem Jack added 15 points, 10 rebounds. Ike Nwamu grabbed 23 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and Denver Nuggets two-way Torrey Craig tallied 12 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.
