CANTON, OH - The Canton Charge (18-25), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, fell to the Delaware 87ers (13-29), 115-106, in front of 3,195 fans at Military Appreciation Night presented by The Patriot Project on Saturday evening. The loss snaps Canton's three-game winning streak.

Canton's Grant Jerrett posted a season-high 29 points and 11 rebounds to pace a short-handed Charge team. Cavaliers forward Ante Zizic was recalled earlier in the day and both Cavaliers' Two-Way players John Holland and London Perrantes joined the team in Cleveland for their matchup with the Denver Nuggets. Cavaliers assignee Marcus Thornton poured in a hard-earned 22 points in 39 minutes. Charge forward Roosevelt Jones posted four points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in 28 minutes for the hosts. Signed earlier in the day, former Dayton guard Scoochie Smith made his Charge debut, scoring five points and dishing six assists in 25 minutes.

Delaware's Christian Wood posted a double-double with a team-high 29 points and 13 rebounds on 9-of-16 shooting in 37 minutes. Wood scored 17 of his 29 points came in the first-half as well as seven of his game-high 13 rebounds. Leading by five entering the second half, Delaware's defense held Canton to just 32% in the third quarter, including 22% from three point range. On the heels of a strong defensive quarter, a James Young three pointer with 44.6 seconds remaining in the third put Delaware's lead at 84-73.

Delaware's lead would go as high as 11 in the fourth quarter before a Kevin Olekaibe jumper cut the deficit to six with 2:33 remaining. Delaware immediately responded with a 6-0 run and eventually sealed the game with the final of 115-106.
