Wilson Tobs News Release
FOREST CITY, N.C. - The Forest City Owls won a rain-shorten contest on Sunday evening at McNair Field as they defeated the Wilson Tobs 2-0 in four and an half innings due to rain.
Forest City (17-6) got the two-run advantage in its half of the second inning when Bryan Aanderud walked to begin the inning and two batters later, Ryan Welke launched a home run over the wall in right field against Tyler Joyner (L, 0-1).
Wilson (8-16) had its best scoring chance in the first inning when they put two runners on base with two outs after a single by Andrew Istler and a walk to Jackson Slaid. However, the Tobs could not scratch as Luis Paula (W, 2-0) worked out of the jam before the Owls won the shortened game 2-0.
The Tobs contiune their road trip on Monday night at 7:05 when they take on the Martinsville Mustangs at Hooker Field.
