
Morris Dazzles, Claws Top Suns 4-1

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Will Morris gave up one unearned run on four hits over seven innings and the BlueClaws topped Hagerstown 4-1 in front of a season high 9,042 fans at FirstEnergy Park.
The BlueClaws (33-27/66-62) took three of four in the series from the Suns (29-31/64-64) and won the season series 11-9.
Morris, who improved to 6-0, has now allowed just one earned run over his last four starts, covering 25 innings of work. Joey DeNato threw a scoreless eighth (and has allowed one run in his last 29.1 innings) while Matt Hockenberry threw a scoreless ninth for his 16th save (tying him for second most in the league).
After Hagerstown took a 1-0 lead in the second inning, the BlueClaws responded with three runs off starter Erick Fedde in the bottom of the 5th. The first scored when Emmanuel Marrero was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The BlueClaws then took the lead on an RBI single by Herlis Rodriguez and extended the lead when Deivi Grullon scored on a wild pitch.
In the sixth, Lakewood added another run on a fielder's choice groundout by Cord Sandberg to open a 4-1 lead and finish the scoring.
Deivi Grullon had two hits for the BlueClaws in the win.
The BlueClaws open a five-game series in Greensboro on Saturday night. RHP Tyler Viza (4-9) starts for Lakewood against LHP Michael Mader (6-11).
