Mooseheads Look to Help IWK in Battle of Nova Scotia
December 10, 2010 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Halifax Mooseheads News Release
The Halifax Mooseheads announced details today on their 2nd annual Battle of Nova Scotia event to be held during the holiday season. The two teams will play each other on December 28th in Sydney, and back in Halifax on December 30th. Both teams will wear Nova Scotia themed jerseys for this event.
The Mooseheads will be selling raffle tickets on the 20 game worn jerseys in an effort to raise funds to purchase a SMART syringe pump for the IWK Health Centre Foundation. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the game, 1 for $2 or 3 for $5, with 100% of the proceeds going to the IWK Health Centre Foundation.
"The entire organization has had a close relationship with the IWK since day one of this franchise. Our players make monthly visits to the hospital to visit the kids and many have formed positive relationships that have lasted beyond their time with the Mooseheads" stated Brian Urquhart, Vice President, Business Operations. "The IWK has approached us about the shortage of SMART syringe pumps, and we plan on helping raise enough money to purchase one through this event".
