
Rocket Announce Final Proceeds from Special Pink Jersey Initiative

Charlottetown, PEI, December 9, 2010 --- The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) CIBC Run for the Cure Charlottetown was very pleased to be presented with a cheque from the PEI Rocket representing the balance of their overall fundraising of $7,263, to support breast cancer research and awareness.
The PEI Rocket hosted a Pasta Dinner, in cooperation with East Side Mario's, where players served the meals, raising $1,600. The Rocket then organized the second annual Pink Out the Rink, taking place October 29th at the Charlottetown Civic Centre, where the PEI Rocket hosted and triumphed over the Halifax Mooseheads. The Rocket donated five dollars from every game ticket purchased and raffled off league-issued pink jerseys that were work by players during the game to raise $4,790.
"We are very proud to once again to have been involved in this tremendous project with CBCF CIBC Run for the Cure. We increased our contribution considerably over last year and we hope to raise the bar further next year" said Kent Hudson, General Manager of Business Operations with the PEI Rocket. "It is our sincere hope that the team's involvement will lend support to this very worthwhile cause".

"We are very pleased to have the PEI Rocket continue their support for this great cause and look forward to a continued partnership next year".
The 2010 Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure Charlottetown took place on Sunday, October 3 and has fundraised over $183,000 to date. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is the largest single-day, volunteer led national event to support breast cancer research and community projects across the country.
