Mooseheads acquire Garrett Clarke

The Halifax Mooseheads acquired 17yr old defenseman Garrett Clarke from the Lewiston Maineiacs today in exchange for 19yr old Alexis Piette and a 2009 7th Round pick.

Clarke, drafted 6th overall by the Maineaics in the 2008 QMJHL Entry Draft, recorded 6 goals and 3 assists last season for Lewiston, to go along with 86 penalty minutes in 46 games. Clarke is listed at 6'0, 180lbs.

"We are very excited with the addition of Garrett Clarke. He is highly skilled defenseman with a lot of potential, and we feel that he will fit in well with our youth movement going forward", stated Cam Russell, Mooseheads Coach and General Manager.

The Mooseheads will look to add more players to their roster tomorrow morning when the 2009 QMJHL Entry Draft takes place at 10am in Moncton.
