Several teams pull off blockbuster trades

MONCTON, Friday, June 5, 2009 - Teams were very active this morning as the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League trade period officially got underway. A few blockbuster trades were made with some clubs looking to add some big pieces for next season.
In one of the biggest trades of the day, the Remparts acquired Danick Paquette (1990-07-17), Peter Delmas (1990-02-16), Patrick Cusack (1989-06-15), Dominic Savoie (1990-03-15) and a first round pick in the 2010 Import Draft from the MAINEiacs for Samuel Carrier (1992-04-28), Sébastien Trudeau (1991-07-24), first and third round picks in tomorrow's Entry Draft and a first round selection in the 2010 Import Draft.
The Screaming Eagles acquired forward Luke Adam (1990-06-18) from the Juniors for Nicolas Chouinard (1990-11-18), Spencer MacDonald (1992-04-03) and a first round pick in 2009. Moreover, Cape Breton pried away Ashton Bernard (1990-02-05) from the Cataractes and Marc Bourgeois (1990-05-03) from the MAINEiacs after sending draft picks to both clubs.
The Sea Dogs sent a second round pick in 2010 to the Voltigeurs for forward Mike Hoffman (1989-11-24). Saint John also acquired Nicholas Petersen (1989-05-27) from the Cataractes for a first round pick in 2010.
Halifax sent the 2nd overall selection in tomorrow's Entry Draft to the Foreurs for a second round pick in 2009 and a first round pick in 2012. Then, the Foreurs acquired defenseman Simon Lacroix (1989-05-29) and a first round pick in 2009 (#4) from the Cataractes for two first round picks in 2009 (#2 & #13).
The MAINEiacs traded Garrett Clarke (1992-11-03) to the Mooseheads for Alexis Piette (1990-01-10) and a seventh round pick in 2009. The Mooseheads also acquired Alexandre Brunet (1989-08-24) from the Océanic for third and fourth round selections in 2011.
The MAINEiacs traded Travis Moore (1992-04-24), third and fourth round picks in 2009 as well as a sixth round selection in 2010 to the Titan for Stefan Fournier (1992-04-30).
The Rocket sent a third round pick in 2010 to the Voltigeurs for winger Samson Mahbod (1989-02-03). P.E.I. also acquired François Lévesque (1989-11-28) from the Saguenéens for a sixth round selection in 2010.
The Juniors sent defenseman Dmitri Kostromitin (1990-01-22) to the Huskies for a sixth round pick in 2009.
The Drakkar sent Anthony Taylor (1991-01-15) and a tenth round pick in 2009 to the Foreurs for Jean-François Caron (1989-12-08) and a ninth round selection in 2009, but acquired Jeff Marcoux (1990-04-19) from the Voltigeurs for a third round pick in 2010.
