Monsters Weekly Storylines
Who will wear the captain's "C" for the Monsters this season? With longtime captain Ryan Craig departing prior to the season for an Assistant Coach role with the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights, six players have worn the assistant captain's "A" through ten games this year. An exploration of how a pro hockey team settles on their official leadership group would provide a compelling glimpse inside an AHL hockey operations department. The month of Movember is upon us and the Monsters are teaming up with the Movember Foundation again this year to raise funds and awareness in the battle against men's health and mental health issues. Many Monsters players and staff members are growing moustaches in support of Movember, a cause that has gained significant traction in the hockey industry in the past decade.
The Cleveland Monsters are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League playing at Quicken Loans Arena and the Canton Charge of the NBA G League playing in nearby Canton, Ohio at the Canton Civic Center.
