Monsters Weekly Storylines

Rocky River native Carter Camper is finally back in Northeast Ohio. Heading into his eighth professional season, the former Miami University Redhawk signed a two-year contract with the Monsters this summer and is returning to his hometown, alongside his wife and two young sons, as a member of the home team for the first time in his pro career. A feature on Camper's homecoming could feature conversations with his parents and his wife's parents, all Northeast Ohio residents.

Cameron Gaunce is no stranger to Cleveland, having spent parts of three seasons with the Monsters from 2010-13, but that was when the Monsters' NHL affiliate was the Colorado Avalanche. Having signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Monsters' current affiliate, in the offseason, a profile on Gaunce would provide a unique perspective on the Monsters' organizational evolution from a player with a foot planted in both affiliate eras.

Monsters forward Brett Gallant is closing in on a decade in pro hockey and is entering his third season in Cleveland in 2017- 18. A member of the Monsters' 2016 Calder Cup Championship team, Gallant has long been a fan favorite in every market in which he's played and is considered one of the toughest players at any level of professional hockey. A Summerside, PE, Canada native, Gallant was featured in the 2016 film "Ice Guardians," which explored the role of the enforcer in pro hockey.

The Cleveland Monsters are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League playing at Quicken Loans Arena and the Canton Charge of the NBA G League playing in nearby Canton, Ohio at the Canton Civic Center.
