Flyers Acquire G Dustin Tokarski from Anaheim

Lehigh Valley, PA - The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have acquired goaltender Dustin Tokarski from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for future considerations, and have assigned him to Lehigh Valley, according to general manager Ron Hextall. In a separate transaction, the Phantoms have moved goaltender Leland Irving to the San Diego Gulls, AHL affiliate of the Ducks, for future considerations.

Photo courtesy Getty Images. A 28-year-old netminder from Watson, Saskatchewan, Tokarski is in the midst of his ninth professional season and compiled a 17-8-1 overall record in 27 games with San Diego last season to go along with a 2.93 goals-against average and 0.898 save percentage.

A veteran of 276 career AHL outings, he's amassed a 146-101-19 overall mark, 19 shutouts, 2.51 goals-against average and 0.910 save percentage in time with San Diego, the St. John's IceCaps, Hamilton Bulldogs, Syracuse Crunch and Norfolk Admirals. Tokarski produced a career-high 32 wins with Norfolk during the 2011-12 campaign before helping to back stop the Admirals to the 2012 Calder Cup Championship.

A fifth-round selection (#122 overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, he's produced a 10-12-5 record in 34 career NHL games with Tampa Bay, the Montreal Canadiens and Anaheim.

The Phantoms return to PPL Center this Saturday, October 14 when they welcome the rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to downtown Allentown. The Phantoms are coming off an incredibly successful third campaign in the Lehigh Valley playing at the state-of-the-art PPL Center in which the team posted its highest win total (48) and highest standings point total (101) in more than a decade. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 21 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have qualified for the Calder Cup Playoffs 11 times and have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
