OPENING WEEKEND POINTS:

The Moose picked up road points on opening weekend for the third straight year with their split in Grand Rapids. Last season saw the team split their games in Iowa, earning three points (W, SOL). The year previous, the Moose picked up one point (L, SOL) in Toronto.

CENTURY MARK:

Cameron Schilling wasted no time in checking off a milestone this season. The veteran defender contributed an assist in each of Manitoba's games this weekend to reach the 100-point mark for his career. Schilling has 26 goals and 74 assists to his name and it took 357 games to reach the 100-point plateau.

MAKING AN IMPRESSION:

The Moose added a significant amount of experience coming into this season, and it didn't take long for some of those players to hit the scoresheet. In addition to Schilling's assists, Mike Sgarbossa posted four points (2G, 2A) in two games, Buddy Robinson also scored on Saturday.

ROSTER MOVES:

The Moose announced multiple roster moves on Monday. The team signed defenceman Charles-David Beaudoin to a professional tryout. Beaudoin played 17 games at the University of Quebec Trois Rivieres, posting nine points (3G, 6A) last season. He also played six games with Binghamton (AHL) and five games with Tulsa (ECHL), tallying an assist with each. The team also assigned Jimmy Lodge to Jacksonville (ECHL), Kale Kessy to Tulsa (ECHL), Tim Daly to Norfolk (ECHL) and released John McCarron from his professional tryout.
