ATLANTIC DIVISION FINALS HIGHLIGHTS

Vs. Providence (5/1): Center Pascal Pelletier netted two goals to help the Providence Bruins win game one of the 2007 Calder Cup Atlantic Division Finals with a 6-3 victory over the Manchester Monarchs on Tuesday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Along with a pair from Pelletier, the Bruins collected goals from left wing T.J. Trevelyan, defenseman Brian White, right wing Nate DiCasmirro and forward Sean Bentivoglio. The Monarchs answered back with goals from defenseman Peter Harrold, center Patrick O'Sullivan and defenseman T.J. Kemp. Monarchs goaltender Jason LaBarbera took the loss with 23 saves on 28 shots before being replaced by netminder Barry Brust in the third period who stopped the only shot he faced in over 11 minutes of play. Bruins goaltender Hannu Toivonen made 36 saves in the win. Manchester went 1-for-8 on the power play. Providence was 2-for-6 with the man advantage.

Vs. Providence (5/2): Goaltender Barry Brust stopped 31-of-32 shots to guide the Manchester Monarchs to a 4-1 win over the Providence Bruins on Wednesday night to tie the 2007 Calder Cup Atlantic Division Finals to 1-1 on Wednesday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Center Patrick O'Sullivan scored his team leading fifth goal of the playoffs, center Marty Murray tallied a pair and left wing Jeff Giuliano collected his first goal of the playoffs in the win. Center David Krejci scored the lone goal for the Bruins. Providence netminder Hannu Toivonen took the loss stopping 17 shots through two periods before being replaced by goaltender Jordan Sigalet who stopped all eight shots in the third period. Manchester went 2-for-7 on the power play. Providence was 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

At Providence (5/8): Left wing T.J. Trevelyan scored with a minute and a half remaining in the game to lift the Providence Bruins over the Manchester Monarchs 2-1 in game three of the best-of-seven 2007 Calder Cup Atlantic Division Finals at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Tuesday night. Right wing Nate DiCasmirro scored a shorthanded goal in the second period to put the Bruins on the board. Manchester evened things up at 1-1 with a tally by defenseman Oleg Tverdovsky. Monarchs goaltender Barry Brust took the loss stopping 26 shots. Bruins netminder Hannu Toivonen earned the win with 24 saves. Manchester went 1-for-5 on the power play. Providence was 1-for-7 with the man advantage.

At Providence (5/9): Rookie center Gabe Gauthier redirected in his first playoff goal to nudge the Manchester Monarchs past the Providence Bruins 3-2 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Wednesday night to even the 2007 Calder Cup Atlantic Division Finals at two games each. Manchester collected tallies from left wing Jeff Giuliano (shorthanded) and center Marty Murray. Center David Krejci and right wing Jeff Hoggan scored goals for Providence. Monarchs goaltender Jason LaBarbera earned the win with 30 saves. Bruins netminder Hannu Toivonen took the loss stopping 20-of-23 shots. Manchester went 0-for-5 on the power play. Providence was 1-for-6 with the man advantage.

Vs. Providence (5/12): Center Patrick O'Sullivan had two goals and one assist to help lead the Manchester Monarchs past the Providence Bruins 4-3 at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday night to take a 3-2 series lead in the 2007 Calder Cup Atlantic Division Finals. Right wing Tim Jackman and center Marty Murray added on to O'Sullivan's two goals for Manchester. The Bruins collected tallies from right wing Jeff Hoggan, right wing Nate DiCasmirro and center David Krejci. Monarchs netminder Jason LaBarbera earned his fifth win of the playoffs stopping 29-of-32 shots. Bruins goaltender Hannu Toivonen made 27 saves in the loss. Manchester went 0-for-7 on the power play. Providence was 0-for-9 with the man advantage.

Manchester won their first playoff series in franchise history by topping the Worcester Sharks 4-2 in the best-of-seven Atlantic Division Semifinal Series A. The Monarchs lead the best-of-seven series with the Providence Bruins 3-2 in the Atlantic Division Finals.

2001-02 Hartford won the series 3-2

In the Atlantic Division Semifinals versus the Worcester Sharks, Manchester took a 1-0 series lead with a 5-2 victory over the Sharks on Wednesday, April 18 in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Two nights later, right wing John Zeiler scored with 48 seconds remaining in the second overtime period to lift the Monarchs over the Sharks 4-3. Less than 24 hours after the double overtime victory, Manchester blanked Worcester 5-0 for a 3-0 series lead. On the brink of elimination, the Sharks battled back in Game 4 on Wednesday, April 25 with a 3-2 win to stay alive. Worcester would not give up in Game 5 as they topped Manchester 4-1. In double overtime in Game 6, rookie center Brian Boyle scored the game-winner to push the Monarchs into the second round and uncharted territory on Saturday, April 28.

The Monarchs have set new all-time playoff records for the most wins in a playoff season (7), home playoff wins (4), most road playoff wins (3), most goals in a playoff season (35), the most power play goals in a playoff season with 10, the most power play goals against in a playoff season with 13, the most penalty minutes in a playoff season (179), the most penalty minutes by an opponent in a playoff season (201), the most shots on goal for a playoff season with 337 and the most shots on goal by the opponent in a playoff season with 369.

Manchester tied the record for the most shorthanded goals in a playoff season with one against the Bruins on Wednesday, May 9.

The Monarchs are ranked 11th in the league on the playoff power play going 10-for-73 for 13.7-percent.

Manchester is 12th on the penalty kill going 57-for-71 for 80.3-percent.

There are no players on the Monarchs roster in negative numbers of plus/minus category.

In 11 post-season games, 15 different Monarchs players have tallied goals: forwards Patrick O'Sullivan (7), Marty Murray (6), John Zeiler (3), Matt Ryan (2), Brian Boyle (2), Jeff Giuliano (2), Tim Jackman (2), Petr Kanko (1), Matt Moulson (1), Noah Clarke (1), Shay Stephenson (1) and Gabe Gauthier (1) and defensemen Peter Harrold (2), T.J. Kemp (2) and Oleg Tverdovsky (2).

O'Sullivan (7-6=13) leads the team with seven goals and 13 points, the most by a Monarchs player in both categories for a playoff season.

O'Sullivan's seven goals are tied for first in the AHL with Chicago's right wing Darren Haydar.

O'Sullivan's 13 points are tied for sixth best in the league

Murray ranks second on the Monarchs squad with 11 points (6-5=11).

Murray's plus/minus of plus-8 leads the team.

Tverdovsky's (2-8=10) 10 points are tied for second place among defensemen in the AHL.

Tverdovsky's eight assists lead the Monarchs and is tied for sixth place in the AHL.

Tverdovsky's eight assists also ties him with center Steve Kelly (2001-02) for the most assists in a playoff season.

Harrold is ranked fourth on the Monarchs squad with nine points (2-7=9).

Boyle scored his first game-winning goal in double overtime on Saturday, April 28 to advance the Monarchs into the second round of the playoffs for the first time in team history. The rookie center has seven points (2-5=7) in 11 games so far in the playoffs.

Zeiler tallied the game-winning goal in the Monarchs 5-2 win on Wednesday, April 18 and the double overtime game-winning goal in the 4-3 victory on Friday, April 20, both against Worcester. He is the only Monarchs player to tally two game-winning goals in one playoff season.

Clarke leads the Monarchs all-time with nine goals and 17 points in 30 playoff games from 2004-present.

Clarke also shares the team's lead for all-time playoff power play goals of four with right wing Adam Mair.

Giuliano's shorthanded goal on Wednesday, May 9 tied the Monarchs record for shorthanded goals in a season with one. Defenseman Chris Schmidt (2004-05) and right wing Pavel Rosa (2003-04) are the only other Monarchs to have scored shorthanded goals in the playoffs.

Jackman has scored the first goal of the game twice in the 2007 Calder Cup playoffs which ties him with Mair (2001-02) for the most first goals of the season.

Monarchs goaltender Jason LaBarbera has played in eight playoff games this season. He has collected five wins, three losses, one shutout, a goals-against-average of 2.47 and a .921 save-percentage.

LaBarbera leads the Monarchs all-time in playoff appearances (8), minutes played (534:19), wins (5) and saves (255) in a season.

Manchester netminder Barry Brust has won two games for a goals-against-average of 1.58 and a save-percentage of 0.944.
