ST. CATHARINES, ONTARIO - Norfolk Admirals rookie defenseman Jordan Hendry was named a nominee for the 2007 InterContinental Hotels Group Ironman Award last week by the Professional Hockey Players' Association (PHPA).

Hendry was one of 40 players from the American Hockey League and the ECHL to be nominated for the award. The award is presented annually to the PHPA member who has participated in each of his club's regular season games, and has contributed both offensively and defensively throughout the 2006-07 regular season. Nominations are based upon individual player performance, with primary consideration placed on games played, points and plus-minus statistics.

Hendry appeared in all 80 regular season games for the Admirals, becoming the first rookie in franchise history to do so. The Nokomis, Saskatchewan, native also led the team with a +20 rating, the second highest plus/minus rating in franchise history.

Hendry finished 2006-07 with four goals and 12 assists with 84 penalty minutes. He also appeared in all six Norfolk Calder Cup Playoff contests, notching six assists and two penalty minutes.

A selection committee comprised of PHPA officials will announce winners at the PHPA Annual Meeting of Player Representatives in June.

2007-08 season tickets are on sale now through the Admirals' office and through the Admirals' website. For more information, contact the Admirals at (757) 640-1212 or visit them online at www.norfolkadmirals.com.
