WEEK IN REVIEW The Monarchs hit the road for two games over the weekend, and came home from Reading and Adirondack with four points, improving their record to 2-1-0-1.

Friday night, the Monarchs visited the Reading Royals, and came out with a 5-1 victory. The Monarchs received goals from Matt Leitner, Cory Ward, Derek Arnold, Joe Pendenza and Alex Guptill. Colin Stevens put in a solid night between the pipes, earning his first victory of the season. The team welcomed back Joey Diamond to the lineup. Last year's second leading scorer chipped in with an assist in his return.

Saturday, the Monarchs found themselves in a tight contest in Adirondack, but came out with a 4-3 OT win. Guptill and Pendenza (2) netted the goals in regulation for the Monarchs, and Cory Ward netted the game-winner with 3.8 seconds remaining in the extra frame. Stevens got his second win of the season in goal for Manchester.

WHERE WE STAND The Monarchs enter the week in a first-place tie in the North Division with five points, and sit in third in the Eastern Conference just two weeks into the season. The Monarchs are looking up at the Florida Everblades and Atlanta Gladiators in the conference, both of whom will make appearances in the Jungle later this season.

LEADING THE WAY Three skaters lead the scoring charge for the Monarchs so far, with Leitner (1g, 4a), Pendenza (3g, 2a) and Ciampini (2g, 3a) all entering the week with five points. The Monarchs have spread the wealth in the score column, as 17 of the 20 total skaters the team has put on the ice have at least one point.

MORE LIKE A TROPICAL STORM? The Cincinnati Cyclones come to Manchester for the first time in their franchise history, and bring with them a 1-3-0-0 record. To begin the week, the Cyclones sit in a fourth-place tie in the South Division and are currently tenth in the Eastern Conference. Three Cyclones are tied for the team lead in points, with Dominic Zombo, Andrew Yogan and Kenny Ryan all with two points to start the season.

TICKETS The Monarchs return to SNHU Arena on Friday, Oct. 28 (7 p.m.), when the Cincinnati Cyclones make their first trip to Manchester in the history of their franchise on Heritage Night at the Jungle.
