MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have named defenseman Brendan Buckley the team captain, left wings Jeff Giuliano and Noah Clarke as alternate captains at home games, and right wing Tim Jackman and defenseman Doug Nolan as alternate captains at road games for the 2006-07 season, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Buckley, 29, is in his first season with the Monarchs and served as the team captain for the Peoria Rivermen during the 2005-06 season. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Needham, Massachusetts, collected 11 points (2-9=11) and 104 penalty minutes with the Rivermen during 73 games last season.

Giuliano, 27, is entering his fifth season with the Monarchs organization (2002-present). The 5-foot-9, 205-pound native of Nashua, New Hampshire, has collected 70 points (23-47=70) and 62 penalty minutes in 215 games with the Monarchs. Giuliano played in 48 games with the Kings during the 2005-06 season, recording seven points (3-4=7) and 26 penalty minutes.

Clarke, 27, has spent his three professional seasons after graduating from Colorado College with the Kings organization (2003-present). The 5-foot-9, 175-pound native of LaVerne, California, has 142 points (61-81=142) and 81 penalty minutes with the Monarchs. In seven career games with the Kings, Clarke has one assist.

Jackman, 24, appeared in 18 games with the Monarchs last season and registered five points (2-3=5) and 31 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound native of Minot, North Dakota, was traded to Manchester from San Antonio in exchange for center Yanick Lehoux on March 9, 2006. In 282 AHL games with the Syracuse Crunch, the Rampage and the Monarchs, Jackman has 112 points (55-57=112) and 365 penalty minutes. The right wing has also played in 27 NHL games with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Phoenix Coyotes, tallying three points (1-2=3) and 37 penalty minutes.

Nolan, 30, has spent parts of the last four seasons with the Monarchs (2002-present). The 6-foot-2, 210-pound native of Quincy, Massachusetts, appeared in 201 games from 2002-06 with Manchester, recording 21 points (3-18=21) and 305 penalty minutes.
