PLAYOFF RACE
With 18 games remaining in the season for the Nailers, they sit inside the bubble, as the last team in a playoff position, with the fourth seed in the North Division. However, the Nailers (62) are trailed closely by the Worcester Railers (55), by seven points, and have played 56 games, compared to just 54 for the Railers. Wheeling is looking to turn things around, as they have won just three of their last 10 games.
SCORING MACHINES
Expect the goal lights to be flashing all night tonight, with Manchester's offense ranking 2nd in the league with 3.76 goals per game and the Nailers offense ranking 5th, averaging 3.55 goals per game. The Monarchs rank 7th in the league on the power play (18.8%) and the Nailers rank 4th with the man advantage (20.2%). The Monarchs defense might give them a slight advantage, allowing only 2.85 goals per game, while the Wheeling defense gives up 3.39 goals per game.
STOP THAT MAN
Wheeling's Reid Gardiner has tallied a point in nine consecutive games, scoring 10 goals and four assists for 14 points. The nine-game point streak is the longest active point streak in the ECHL. In his last 16 games played, he has scored 15 goals and five assists for 20 points, averaging 1.25 points per game during that stretch.
